hoozyu Fundamentals is part of the hoozyu Learning Programme, designed for anyone planning to help teens and young adults using the hoozyu platform.

You might be a lecturer in a tertiary institution, where hoozyu is being implemented across your faculty or institution; you might be a secondary school teacher, looking to engage with your students in a new way; you might be a parent, wanting to help your own kids and maybe some of their friends; you might be a professional facilitator or youth worker getting ready to deploy hoozyu with a range of groups. You might be one of these or anything and anyone in between; and this is the programme you need.

Rather than just dump a load of "things to remember" on you, we are going to take you on a journey.

We start with the Essence of hoozyu - what is it about, what are we really trying to do here? In this section we'll focus on the underlying issues hoozyu aims to address. hoozyu is NOT a careers programme (although career guidance is one of its very powerful outputs). We are aiming at something much more fundamental than that.

Next we get into the Data. You do not need to be a statistician in any shape or form (somebody else already did that part for you) but you do need to concentrate on what the Data is (and is not). If you ever tell a teenager "your low Numerical score means you are bad at maths", then you’ve lost the plot of what this data really means. (So don’t do it!)

In this section we'll take you step by step through the 4 categories of data within the report, and give you the basis you'll need for reading and understanding the data and language of hoozyu - as well as providing tips for implementing this data in your role as teacher, mentor or parent.

And that's the fundamentals. Although you need to complete this programme once, you should find you have ongoing access to it; we will be updating the programme regularly, so always worth checking back.

Very Important: to get the most out of this journey, you need to be a participant, and not just an observer. If you haven't already completed hoozyu yourself, please do so now, before you go any further.
